A feral cat is a cat that has had little or no human contact or support. These elusive felines are born outdoors in parks, alleyways, under buildings, etc. and will probably never become accustomed to people. Others live their lives in backyards, garages, or barns, or travel from doorstep to doorstep in search of food and shelter.
While KHS does not take in feral cats, occasionally we do end up with feral/feralish cats that cannot be returned to their original habitat. These cats are available to be placed with individuals looking for barn cats. All applicants who want barn cats must meet the following criteria in order to receive cat/s from the program.
What You Will Provide
Prior to going to a barn, all cats are spayed/neutered, receive vaccines, and their ears are tipped.
If you have a safe, warm shelter and would like to adopt barn cats please fill out the form below. KHS works with other local cat rescue groups who have feral cats that need to be relocated. If we do not have a cat that will work in your situation, we will pass your information along to one of our cat rescue groups.
